About Warren Children's Choir

Warren Children's Choir is beginning it's first year.  Children in grades 1 through 6 will explore the world of song. We provide excellent music education -  Kodaly Solfege pitch training, Kodaly songs & games, and most importantly, great fun! We are committed to nurturing a love for music and fostering a supportive environment for young singers to thrive and grow.

Scholarships Available

Suggested donation of $40 per month to help run choir.

DEENA WINTERS is a musician from Salt Lake City and Provo, Utah, and now lives in a Victorian House near her grandchildren in Warren.  She has a BM from Brigham Young University in Classical Piano and Pedagogy, and post-graduate studies in Jazz at BYU.  She loves directing children’s choirs, teaching music and 

​

She currently performs with Pearl City Jazz on piano, Silver Winds on flute and The Warren Philharmonic on oboe.  She currently teaches Music For Little People classes for babies, preschoolers and kindergarteners.  She also teaches piano lessons.

​

She was former Music Director for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Provo, and directed a children’s choir and adult choir as well as supervising the orchestra and brass choir.  She also served as organist there.

Deena worked as a staff accompanist for the BYU School of music and BYU Ballet & Modern Dance Department.  She worked as a Nordtrom pianist and performed in many music groups in SLC & Provo Utah.

Deena flew back and forth to NYC for two years, studying jazz piano with Ted Rosenthal of The Julliard School, and audited Carnegie Hall Professional Training Workshops in NYC with Kenny Baron, Fred Hersch, Yo Yo Ma, and Leon Fleischer.
