Director Deena Winters 

Deena Winters moved to Warren in 2020 after working as a musician in Provo and Salt Lake City, Utah. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University in piano performance and pedagogy. She did post graduate work in Jazz Studies also at BYU and studied jazz piano in NYC with Ted Rosenthal (Faculty at the Juilliard School). Deena studied organ with Brian Mathias, organist for The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square in SLC.

     In Warren, Deena teaches piano privately, plays piano for Pearl City Jazz, plays flute in Silver Winds Flute Choir and oboe with The Warren Philharmonic Orchestra. She is an organist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Warren and Jamestown. Deena directs the Warren Children’s Choir and has a music program for toddlers and preschoolers called Music For Little People. She performs classical piano regularly for The Philomel Club.  She is on the staff for Warren County Summer Music School. 

     In Utah, Deena worked as a staff accompanist at Brigham Young University playing for music majors recitals, juries and competitions. She also worked as a staff accompanist there for the Ballet department and Modern Dance Department playing daily for dance classes. She was a Nordstrom pianist. She performed regularly in the piano trios (piano, violin, cello) Tre Voce and The Brahms Project. She performed with various jazz trios, quartets, big bands and salsa bands.  She directed several choirs.
